awardsthinkspace recently acquired the United States Green Building Council’s LEED (Leadership in Energy and Effeciency Design) Certification. LEED verifies environmental performance, occupant health and financial return. The certification of thinkspace was based on a number of green design and construction features that positively impact the project itself as well as the broader community. In 2009, thinkspace also won King County’s Best Workplace for Recycling and Waste Reduction Award. thinkspace earned this award are by participating a number of sustainable practices. thinkspace ensures that clients receive recycle bins as well as information on recycling upon moving in. All kitchens are equipped with receptacles to recycle compostable food scraps, paper, plastic, glass and aluminum cans. All thinkspace members also have on-site access to recycling for batteries, ink toner, wine corks, cell phones, and paper.
